Legislative Fellow

The Kansas Legislative Research Department (KLRD) seeks a dynamic individual who
possesses strong analytical writing and presentation skills, and can respond promptly in a challenging environment, for a Legislative Fellow position. The position is part of the nonpartisan/professional staff of the Legislature and requires the ability to write clearly and succinctly, make public presentations, and operate under time constraints. The Legislative Fellow must also possess a strong commitment to good government and nonpartisanship. The purpose of the 12-month Legislation Fellowship Program is to attract and provide entry level experience to individuals with an interest in a staff career dealing with the legislative process and public policy development. Preferred advanced degrees include master’s in public administration, business administration, political science, healthcare policy, economics, other related field, or the study of law. No prior work experience in the policy arena is required. The Legislative Fellow will receive a stipend of $1 ,538 bi-weekly, plus health insurance.
